I was in no rush of waking up and I finally felt like I have come on a holiday. Perfect shot na?įinally arrived the day when I landed to my parents place and sighed a relief! We were welcomed and made to sleep till late hours the morning we landed. So now, I'm the sanskari bahu who doesn't let her MIL work when she's around, my MIL is the loving Saas who keeps asking me to rest but I just don't listen. She knew that she praised me a little in exchange of all the housework. Slow claps!!! I overheard that smart answer from kitchen and thought to myself, "What a masterstroke!" Par ab usko hi lagta hai ki humari seva karne ko kabhi toh mile! Sanskar hai aur kya." "Meine toh kitne baar mana kiya bhai sahab. To which, my smart MIL had a fitting reply.

Bacchi ko bhi humare sath baithne do, chai nashta aaj ke din aap bana lena bhabhi ji" One of Sameer's kind uncles observed this and asked my MIL, "Suhani also has come on a vacation. I was better without this vacation, I thought in my mind. His friends used to come over, and so did some relatives. Then followed every day with me getting up early and serving to everyone with their favourite dishes and hubby dear gulping it without offering any help whatsoever. just like your darling son?" I rolled my eyes muttering this. "Why not? That's what I'm born for.making tea for your son for life! Don't you remember that I had to work the whole day and travel too. sone do, he must be tired after a day's work and travel. "Mummy ji, Nahane ke baad Sameer ko utha du? I'm making tea for everyone now" I got out of the bed with great difficulty, Did I have an option? I looked at my husband who was fast asleep and lost in his dreamland. "Aaj humne socha bahu ke hath ka nashta khayenge par tum toh 8 baje tak soti rahi.fir meine hi bana diya" my day started with sarcastic cum 'Ehsaan' filled dialogue from my MIL. After the 'Milaap ceremony' that lasted for an hour, I could finally rest my back around 4:30 am in the morning. We landed in Mumbai around 1:30 am and it was 3:30 am already when we reached home.

We were heading to India on a short trip of 8 days which was (obviously and unfairly) divided as 5 days at my Husband's home and 3 days at mine. If I start attending work in front of them, they feel like I'm showing-off. (Packed schedule at Sasuraal means making 3 meals for the day and being available for anything my in-laws might want me to do. I didn't want any calls or urgent emails to disturb my already packed schedule. It was a usual evening at work but I was busy wrapping things up and preparing an excel with status of my tasks for my manager.
